The Mystery of Grace

The Mystery of Grace

1 Cor 15:10
”But by the grace of God, I am what I am, and His grace to me was not without effect… I worked harder than all of them…”

“We are experiencing a much milder manifestation of the corona virus in the country, than was initially feared, and I dare say it is by the grace of God and the measures taken by the government that have produced this result”.

“These were the words of the Ghanaian President, Nana Akuffo Addo when he addressed the nation on Sunday May 31st; and as I sat down listening to him, making this profound statement about the grace of God, I felt very proud of him, and felt happy that there are leaders of nations in our world today, who still acknowledge the hand of God in their dealings.

Why is the continent of Africa not experiencing as many deaths as was initially anticipated by the West? We may never be able to have all the answers; but one thing is certain, God has been gracious to mother Africa, and for this we are very grateful.
You see, the Grace factor is something each of us must come to love deeply. Grace is the summary of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ; nonetheless its full implications, can never be fully exhausted.

  • Grace is a mystery.
It is a mystery that was kept a secret since the world began but which has now been revealed. (Romans 16: 25; Eph 3: 2-3.)
  • Grace is a discovery.
Remember Grace was previously hidden and can be discovered at the throne of grace. (Heb 4 :16). Many New Testament believers unfortunately, are yet to catch this powerful revelation. (Rom 4:1-4).
  • Grace does not take away personal responsibility.
Paul gets us to understand that grace is not a licence for laziness. So he states emphatically that although he is himself a recipient of grace, yet still he worked hard with the grace bestowed on him. (1 Cor 15:10). Indeed, the grace God gives to us, is for work.

Dear friend, I pray that you will catch the revelation of God’s grace and personalise it like the Apostle Paul did. (Rom 16:25).

The Bible says: ”My grace is suffient you for you, my power is made perfect in your weakness.” (2 Cor 12 :9). Grace is God’s power at work in ordinary men and it’s available for you today. Receive the unsearchable riches of his Grace in Jesus name!
